Mortgage
John King
There are two questions that always come up when I’m speaking with clients. One is will it be a hard hit to my credit and second is does a pre-qualification mean I’m pre-approved.
Pre-Qualification
The first step in starting your home search.
Getting pre-qualified is the first step in starting your home search. The benefit to you as the Buyer is that it allows you to know how much home you can afford. The benefit to the real estate professional (Seller’s agent) or the Builder (new construction) is that it shows how serious you are as a Buyer. Plus, it will save you a lot of time in looking at homes or falling in love with homes that are outside of your price range.
There are two questions that always come up when I’m speaking with clients. One is will it be a hard hit to my credit and second is does a pre-qualification mean I’m pre-approved. Different lenders have different processes for qualifying and approving their clients. Whichever lender you decide to work with, please be sure to ask these and any other questions that you may have. Remember, they are there to work with you in achieving your financing goals.
